PUMP PERFORMANCE OVERVIEW
The pressure capability of a TRIRO triple screw pump is determined by the number of closures formed within the liner / sleeve of the pump. To achieve the service life traditionally associated with Plenty Mirrlees TRIRO pumps, the differential pressure spread over each closure is limited to a maximum of 150 PSI per closure under ideal conditions. The normal lead (NL) screwset contains 4 closures and the short lead (SL) screwset, because of the steeper pitch, contains approximately 4.8 closures. The C6000 series features a fully integral replaceable insert. Should any major failure resulting from ingestion of solid particles, running dry etc occur, the pump can be quickly repaired without disturbing the outer casing or piping. A new pre-assembled insert in a matter of minutes can replace the damaged insert. For further information regarding aftermarket services such as spares and repairs please contact Plenty Mirrlees Pumps. The C6000 series is designed for CLOCKWISE rotation only as viewed from the pump shaft end. The in balance, axial flow design allows the pump to operate efficiently at high rotating speeds, up to 5000RPM depending on pump size. Plenty Mirrlees Pumps have designed the pump for direct connection between cartridge and prime mover through a flexible coupling. The operating life of the C6000 series pump is largely dependent on the cleanliness of the liquid passing through it. Adequate filtration should be provided to prevent ingress of harmful abrasive particles. STANDARD CONSTRUCTION

The
maximum pressure capability of the pump is de-rated for
fuel oil service and for operating viscosities below 250
SSU. The chart below details the maximum pressure
capabilities of the C6000 series for safe operation and
prolonged service life. These de-rated values are
also reflected on the pump performance tables.
